How Did I Find Coaching?

In 2019, I was leading a team as the Director of Employees and Operations at a healthcare company.

On paper, I was successful. I was hitting career milestones and living the dream. Beneath the surface, though, I was crumbling.

ADHD had me stuck in autopilot mode. I had big goals but could not seem to follow through. My relationships felt strained, and I was constantly chasing the feeling of being caught up.

The self-criticism was relentless. Why can’t you just focus? Why can’t you get it together? Maybe I’m not cut out for this. I was spinning in a cycle of doubt, perfectionism, and burnout. I was always pushing but never feeling like I was enough.

Does that sound familiar?

Then one day, during a mindless social media scroll, I stumbled on a post from a coach I admired. It hit me like nothing else had before. It was my wake-up call.

Here’s what I realized. ADHD was not the enemy. My patterns were.

I had been trying to outwork my brain, hustle harder, and organize my way out of overwhelm. What I really needed was to understand my ADHD brain and work with it. When I embraced my ADHD as a superpower, everything began to shift.

I started working with coaches who helped me rebuild from the inside out. No more productivity hacks that did not stick. I learned to manage my energy, simplify my routines, and focus on what truly mattered.

Slowly, I started following through on my goals, rebuilding relationships that honored who I was, and creating boundaries that gave me peace.

Through this process, I also learned how ADHD was impacting my relationships. Divorce taught me hard truths about communication, emotional regulation, and the patterns I needed to own. It was not just romantic relationships.

Friendships and family connections were affected too. I had to break the cycle of people-pleasing, advocate for myself, and redefine what connection really meant to me.

I know what it is like to crave meaningful relationships while struggling to keep up because your brain is always ten steps ahead. I also know the exhaustion of chasing goals without a roadmap that works for you.
